Employee hotline service
One number your employees can call, answered by a person every time
Employees don’t call in sick, report a safety problem or raise a concern on your schedule. They call at 5 a.m. before a shift, on a Saturday night, or on a holiday when HR is closed. Our employee hotline service gives them one number that a live agent answers 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, in English or Spanish.
The agent follows the script you approve, documents the call the way your HR team wants it, and routes the report to the right people by your rules: a supervisor for a call-off, your HR contact for a workplace concern, your designated compliance contact for a report that needs it. Nothing waits in a voicemail box, and every call leaves a written record.
Southern Voices has answered calls since 1995. HR and employee hotlines are one of the fastest-growing parts of our work, used by HR teams, property managers, contractors and healthcare employers across the country.

Our hotlines
Three hotlines, one team answering them
Run one hotline or all three on the same number, each with its own script, routing rules and reports.
Employee call-off hotline
Employees report absences, late arrivals and early departures to a live agent. The right supervisor is told right away and HR gets a record of every call-off.
HR & ethics hotline
A place for employees to raise workplace concerns, ask HR questions after hours and report problems, documented and routed to your HR contacts.
Compliance hotline
A whistleblower and ethics reporting line answered by trained agents, with reports delivered only to the contacts you designate.
Who uses our hotlines
Built for employers with people on the move
Most of our hotline clients have staff who start early, work in the field or cover shifts around the clock.
HR teams
One number for absences, questions and concerns across every location, with consistent records for HR.
Property managers’ staff
Maintenance techs, leasing and office staff call off through one line, and the right property manager hears about it.
Contractors’ field crews
Crews report absences before the trucks roll, so supervisors can reshuffle jobs before the first appointment.
Healthcare employers
Nurses, aides and clinic staff call off any hour, and the charge nurse or scheduler is told by your rules.
How reports are handled
Documented, routed and delivered your way
Every hotline call follows a script we build with you. The agent asks your questions in your order, so each report has the same details: who called, when, what happened and what they need. Then the report goes where your rules say it should.
- Urgent reports, like a safety problem, go to your designated contact right away by phone, then down your escalation list if the first contact doesn’t answer
- Call-offs reach the employee’s supervisor by secure text or email, by department, location or shift
- Routine reports are delivered by secure text, email or the client portal, ready for your HR team
- If your HR or scheduling system has an API, we can build an integration so reports land where your team already works
Confidentiality
Reports go only to the people you name
You decide who receives each type of report. A concern about a supervisor doesn’t have to go to that supervisor, and a compliance report can go to someone outside the reporting line. Agents only collect the information your script asks for.
Each hotline can also be set up to take reports without asking for the caller’s name, if that’s how you want your program to work.
Bilingual hotlines
Live in English and Spanish
Many hourly workforces include employees who are more comfortable in Spanish. Our bilingual agents take the report in Spanish, live, not through a “press 2” menu or a translation line, and deliver it to your team in the language you choose.
Read why “press 2 for español” isn’t real bilingual support, or see our bilingual answering service.
How hotline calls are handled
What happens when an employee calls
A live agent answers in your company’s name, works out what kind of report it is, and handles it exactly the way your playbook says.
- Urgent Your designated contact, reached now Safety problems and serious reports go out by phone right away, then down your escalation list
- Call-off Absence logged, supervisor told Employee, shift, reason and return date sent to the right supervisor
- Question Policy question answered Call-off rules, office hours and other answers from the information you give us

Questions
Employee hotline FAQs
Don’t see your question? Call and ask a live agent, any time.
Can we run more than one hotline on the same number?
Yes. Many clients use one number for call-offs, HR concerns and compliance reports. The agent works out which kind of call it is and follows the right script and routing rules for each.
Who receives the reports?
Only the people you name. You can route by report type, department, location or shift, and you can keep certain reports away from the people they concern.
Are your hotlines available nights and weekends?
Yes. Live agents answer 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including holidays, so an employee calling off at 4 a.m. reaches a person.
Can employees report in Spanish?
Yes. Bilingual agents take the call live in Spanish and deliver the report in the language your team prefers.
How much does an employee hotline cost?
